Creating Promotion Graphics & Assets

Having graphics made for the sales event can help create a consistent message for your customers. Here are some graphics that can help a sale event:

Etsy banner/cover image
Email banner
Social media posts

I would recommend using design tools like Canva, which you can sign up for free here.

I know creating them from scratch can be difficult, so here are two ways I recommend for creating marketing materials: Using Canva's Magic Design or copy designs from my Canva library.

Generate Promotion Materials Quickly With Canva's Magic Design

Magic Design is a great Canva feature that can help you speed up your marketing workflow dramatically. By simply uploading a photo or video, Canva analyses the content and generates a bunch of highly usable templates, including social media posts, banners, business card designs and more.

What I love most about this feature is that all the elements inside the templates are editable. After choosing your favourite template, you can further tweak it to fit your brand by changing colours & fonts, adding extra graphics, etc.

Here’s how you can use Magic Design:

Choose Magic Design on the home page
Click “Insert Media” and “Choose Files” to choose your product image or video
Canva will then create templates based on the photo/video you upload
You can tweak the vibe and color palette in the “Style” dropdown
You can also change the category Canva generates by clicking the “All Categories” dropdown menu

You will get 8 initial designs based on the image you uploaded. The designs with a crown are only available for Canva Pro users.

You can also change the initial style and colour palette of the generated designs, but keep in mind that you can change the colours afterwards in the editor as well

How To Use The GYC Holiday Promotion Canva Library

You can also browse my Canva promotion material library below. The templates are in square shape, which can be used for social media posts like Instagram or Facebook.

Or you can copy all the elements in the design to a custom sized design. Here are some of the commonly used sizes that you'd need:

Etsy Big Banner: 2400px x 600px

Instagram Post: 1600px x 2000px (4:5 ratio)

Instagram Story/Facebook Story/Pinterest Idea Pins: 1125px x 2000px (9:16 ratio)

Pinterest Post: 1600px x 2400px (2:3 ratio)

The same design can be copied to different sizes to use across different platforms.

Steps

Click the link to copy the design to your Canva account
Change and add text (e.g. your shop name or social media handle)
Adjust colour and design elements
(Optional) Copy everything in the templates to a custom sized design
Download the your holiday promotion design to use for your Etsy shop!
