Aim to add at least 5-10 new products a week for the first few months. It’s hard work, but if done well, the payoff will be amazing.
The more products you add the better, but don’t compromise on quality. Good quality products are those that are at least the same quality as the best selling products, with good keyword research and SEO.
Being active is important for a new Etsy shop. Also, new products give you the exposure you need in the beginning through ranking in more keywords.
There are a few efficient ways to find new products idea:
Use research tools like Alura to look at what sells the best in your competitors' shops. If you don’t have those products already, it’s a good idea to create your own version of them.
Think about what they need every step of the way. Take Growing Your Craft as an example. I started off selling only product labels. But I recognise, if they are selling their own products, I should help them in the process. That’s why I added business card design, Etsy shop branding, etc. which they will likely need some time during their journey.
If you already have some clear winning products that sell consistently (congrats!), then you can expand on those product ideas.
Think of expanding the design in these ways
