How To Use This Etsy Fees Calculator?

This Etsy Fee & Profit Calculator helps you get a better understanding of your revenue, costs, and profit.

By inputting key details such as selling price, shipping costs, discounts, product costs, and whether Etsy Offsite Ads are being used, you can get a visual and detailed breakdown of all the different Etsy fees you have to pay, and how they affect your profitability.

How Are The Etsy Fees Calculated?

Etsy charges the following fees (for ease of comparison, all the values are in USD):

  • Listing fee - $0.2 per listing (Expire after 4 months or when the listing is sold)
  • Transaction fee - 6.5% of final price (after any discounts), including shipping, product customisations and gift wrapping.
  • Payment processing fees - Differs slightly between countries; For US sellers, it's $0.25 + 3% of the total final price.
  • Offsite ads - If your product is purchased by a customer who clicked on an ad outside of Etsy, Etsy charges you 12-15%. This can be opted out only if you make less than $10,000 over the last 12 months.

Other fees include: Etsy onside ads, Etsy Plus subscription fee, on-person selling fee, Pattern subscription fee, currency conversion fee and regulatory operating fee. For more information, read this article on How Much Does It Cost To Sell On Etsy.

Approximately what percentage does Etsy take for each sale?

Etsy fees make up about 20% of the total costs for most sellers, which is not to be overlooked. It’s easy to underestimate the amount of Etsy fees. In general, the higher the item sale price, the lower the percentage of Etsy fee compared to the product price.
