• Upload your shop logo and put in the shop name
• Add your first product and product photos. Just put a simple title in for now. We will change it later.

Creating The Perfect Listing

If you don't want to start a new course for now, here is the structure you can follow for your listing description:

• Benefits - How your product can help your customer. For example, “Lighten up your room with this colourful wall art” or “Save money and time with this editable wedding invitation”.
• What it is and how it works - A short description of what the digital product is and how it can help your customers.
• Demo link if you are using Corjl
• Features - This part includes the size, colour, how many pages, etc. It’s also a good time to restate that it’s a digital product and no physical products will be shipped
• Ordering process and how quickly customers will receive the design
• Editing information if applicable. Talk about what can and cannot be edited
• Printing information if applicable. Give them clear instructions and link to printing services.
  

Use some lines and symbols to separate each section so it’s easier to read for shoppers.

Once you have written the product description for one product, you can easily copy and paste to other products. Most of the time, you would only need to change some of the details like sizes and product name.

Etsy SEO is how you will get found on Etsy search. It’s going to be the main traffic source for your shop. And the best thing is that it’s free.

Otherwise, here are the basics you need to know to get your shop started quickly.

Keyword research is important. You want use keywords that are long-tail, descriptive and with good demand. To know the demand, you can either use the A-to-Z method or with the help of tools like Alura.

Another place to get keywords are from your competitors. From previous steps, you should have identified your closest competitors. They are the ones who sell very similar products to yours. And the successful sellers have already done their keyword research. So do to their shop and mark down all the relevant keywords.

My method of quickly add the keywords to multiple product titles:

1. Have your list of keywords ready. Keep in mind the keyword should be long-tail with at least 2-3 words.
2. Open your Etsy shop dashboard. Go to ‘Listings’ and then ‘Quick edit’.
3. Put in the most descriptive and specific keyword in the front of each listing title (e.g. “floral editable business card template”, “2022-2023 Goodnotes Digital Planner”, “DIY Unicorn Pool Party Invitation”)
4. Then go through your list of keywords. Copy and paste each keyword to 3-5 listings that are relevant.
5. Repeat the process until you have filled in all the titles

Now it’s time to fill in the tags. Keep in mind that each tag has a 20 character limit. The aim is to match the tags with your title keywords, but make sure the tag itself makes sense. 

For example, “floral editable business card template” can be divided into “floral card template”, “editable card”, etc. Don’t write tags like “floral editable” or “editable business” as no one would search for them.

Refer to the previous chapter or use this tutorial which shows the few steps to connect your Corjl design to Etsy listings:

Connect to Etsy shop by clicking your profile at the top-right, then 'Settings'. Connect your shop at the bottom of this page. You may need to come back after you open the shop because Corjl requires at least one listing in your Etsy shop before it can connect.

To link a design to an Etsy listing, click 'Listings' on the top and 'Create New Listing' to put in a name for your listing. It doesn't need to be the same as your Etsy listing name. Just put a name that you can refer back to in the future.

Connect this Corjl listing to an Etsy listing by entering the Etsy Listing ID. You can get the listing ID by checking the url of your listing here:

After copying the listing ID to the Corjl listing, you can also get the demo link to put in your Etsy listing description (so shoppers can try it out before buying to improve the conversion rate).

Add your design at the bottom of this page by double clicking on the design you want to add. Don't forget to press 'Done' after adding the design.

Finally, press 'Save' at the top of the page and your design is now linked to your Etsy listing. When a customer purchase that Etsy listing, they will receive an email from Corjl of the instruction to create an account to edit the design.

Sharing Canva Editable Template On Etsy

Because customers need to edit the Canva templates themselves, we can’t just attach the finished file to the Etsy listing.

Instead, we need to give them a link so they can access and edit the design in their own Canva account.

Get Shareable Canva Template Link

Canva allows you to share a ‘template link’, which allows customers to click the link to make a copy of the design to their own Canva account.

To get the link, click ‘Share’ on the top right and then ’Template link’ to copy the link:

Create PDF With Template Link

As you can’t attach the template link directly on Etsy, you need to put the link in a file to upload to your Etsy listing. You can create a PDF file which includes the template link and other details like your shop name, how to use the template, links to printing services, etc. You can then attach the PDF to your Etsy listing.

Delivery Of Non-Editable Digital Downloads

Upload your digital product to the bottom of the listing edit page. The limit of each file is 20mb.

When a customer places an order for that product listing, Etsy will immediately send them the link to download the file. They can also access the download page at a later time in their ‘Purchases and Reviews’ page.
